IS VISTA SUPPORTED BY THE DEVELOPER TOOLS?
Visual Studio 2005 suffered the nagging issues of the performance in the IDE and the bugging of the .Net Framework 2.0 which was a great tool while its 2008 edition considered these shortcomings allowing you to target the XP as well as the Vista with new WPF applications. And like virtually all of Microsoft’s developer software, it runs great on either OS. The Visual Studio 2008 performs faster on XP than Vista whereas the
Windows Server for XP gives a run for its money. There is no great advantage to run Visual Studio 2008 on Vista while it gives many advantages to the performance of the Windows XP. One cannot lose anything by way of writing a code in Visual Studio 2008 on the XP.
THE CONCLUSION
There is no way one should go in for Windows Vista for the developer tool support as XP is a much better option any day.
