In a nutshell, Dave is a game where you have to collect as many points as you can and somehow manage to reavch to the last level. Not a single point should be missed out as every point adds upto one life. This means for every 20000 points, you get a new life which means a lot for the game.

SOME USEFUL TRICKS FOR DAVE

This trick is for the sixth level. It is known to most of you that at t the end of every stage, you need to have trophy with you to be able to reach the next level. The trophy is found in every level, not very difficult, its easy to find it. Once you take the trophy, you reach the next level and for the sixth level, you should chose to go through the door and leave the trophy for the time being, then turn to your right side with which you will reach directly to the wrap zone of level 8 where a jetpack will be available for you too. And in case you turn to your left you will reach another wrap zone which is nothing but level 0

.Also for level five, dont go through the door, instead use the inlet at the top of the door which will make you reach to a wrap zone.

Requirements needed to play Dave….

THIS IS THE MOST NICE PART OF THE GAME THAT IT IS A DOS BASED GAME WHICH DOESN’T REQUIRE ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENTS TO RUN IT CAN BE RUN ON A SIMPLE BASIC PC. DUE TO WHICH IT IS COMMONLY PLAYED BY PEOPLE.

STORYLINE OF DAVE

The story line of Dave is quite interesting and mysterious. There is this guy called Clyde in whose hideout you are going through in the whole of the game. Wonder, you have never met this man in person and just assume him to be nice and a good man.

SOME IMPORTANT CONTROLS FOR DAVE                            

DD has featured ten normal levels along with four bonus rooms adding the total to fourteen in all. Leaving a level gives you two thousand points unless its a bonus area you are entering.

You can move with the LEFT and RIGHT navigation keys.

If you are flying, you need to keep the DOWN NAVIGATION KEY pressed.

To jump, you can press the UP NAVIGATION KEY and pressing it for long with the RIGHT NAVIGATION KEY IMMEDIATELY after it will give you a HIGH JUMP to reach the clouds or stairs high above.

If you have a jetpack, the CONTROL (Ctrl) key activates it. But if you push the button to activate it and die before it comes on then it is carried forward in your next life and comes on as soon as you stop blinking .So you need to be forewarned so that your fuel does not go waste.

Alt key lets you fire a bullet from your gun.

You can climb a tree by pressing the UP NAVIGATION KEY while standing in front of it. If you are on the right position you will be able to climb it otherwise you will jump up and fall down slowly. The same thing can be done with the stars in the sky.

In case of killing the enemies there are many ways, one is to shoot a single bullet for a single enemy if you have a firegun and the other is to hit your head in them which kills both the enemy as well as the player and you will not even get points for this move.

In some of the levels at the end of the game, there are illusionary platforms that look real but are not and there isn’t a way to distinguish between them and keep away. Also there are fatal pits in which you can easily fall if you are not having a jetpack. All this is done to make the game a little more difficult. SO BEWARE!!

SCORING IN DAVE

Scores are given on the basis of the number of enemies killed by you and the amount of treasures and points collected, the speed of the game atc etc. At the start, you are given with four lives which can be increased with every 20000 points collected by you, as mentioned earlier.

The point maximum out at 99999 which is not a very hard job if the second bonus room is exploited by you till the extremes. You can even get upto 2 additional lives in this bonus room if you reach this score. This score is not shown but surely is added upto your total. If you pick the non-point accruing fire guns and jetpacks, you gain an additional live which is quite bizarre.

CRACK FOR THE HIGHSCORE                                               

You can edit your highscore by following the steps mentioned below:

Open the dat file of hex editor.

Modify your highscore.

In the level line, write “b”.

The window will show your highscore when you view it and you will win the level.
