ABOUT PROSTREET
Prostreet is the 11th installment of the NEED FOR SPEED popularly called NFS whose developer is EA Black Box, EA is its publisher and distributor is EA Distribution. It is in series with the Need For Speed with a native resolution of 720p (HDTV),480p/576p (EDTV) and 480i/576i (SDTV). Prostreet is the 1.1 Version of NFS and is available on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and mobiles.It released on the 14th of November 2007 in North American and India and 23rd Novmber 2007 in Europe. It is a racing game for a single as well as multiplayer.

DEMO OF PROSTREET
The demo of Prostreet was released 10 days before its launch featuring 2 races where one was a speed race and the other was a grip race, both of which were shown on xbox Live on 26th of October 2007, 1st November 2007 on Playstation Store and 2nd November on the PC.
STORYLINE
In the game, a former street racer, Ryan Cooper who is mocked by Ryo Watanabe the Showdown King, wins a challenge with a Nissan 240sx.This takes him to Battle Mechine a famous race organisation which again becomes his monopoly followed by ShowdownChicago promoted by Super Promotion with the best crew, the APEX GLIDE, crew for every specific event eg. the TOUGE UNION TEAM for drift, a CIRCUIT CREW called GRIP RUNNERS, ROGUE SPEED that is a drag crew.
Ryan wins even this showdown and moves to the R3act Team Sessions and then to another one where again he dominates. After so many wins, he is recieved invites from the four kings of DRAG that is a race in the drag strip, point to point, DRIFT, GRIP similar to the circuit races but has four different types of grips and SPEED challenge that is similar to a sprint race where he defeats all the four and earns their crowns. Further this, he dominates many organisations to challenge Ryo driving a Mitsubhishi Lancer Evolution X. The APEX Glide Team leaves Ryo as sson as Ryan beats him in the challenge thereby, becoming a Street King due to all the crowns he had and becomes the best racer of the world.
SCREENPLAY
In Prostreet, most of the races take place on closed roads making it the first game in the NEED FOR SEED II that does not encourage illegal racing as most of its series were set around streets with moving traffic and crashes with a broken window sound to make it look like hollywood racing style.The performance tuning is enhanced as compared to its other versions.
MODES OF PROSTREET
DRAG – This race is simple with 3 heats: 1/4 and 1/2 mile races where the fastest time out of the 3 wins. Then there is the wheekie race in which the longest wheelie on the 1/4 mile track wins the race.
GRIP – Here the player has an option to play rough, ramming, smashing or blocking the opponent to win OR race cleanly and follow the racing lines. There are 4 types:
Normal Grip
This race involves 2 to 4 laps around a circuit track against upto 7 other racers where the first one to cross the finish line wins the race.
Grip Class
This race has 8 racers divided into 2 even groups based on the performance of their vehicles. The first group starts 10 seconds before the second on the same track but are competing with the other 3 racers in their group only.
Time Attack
Here the driver having the quickest single lap time wins the race.
Sector Shootout
The track is didvided into many segments in this race where the racers compete these sectors in the shortest time. The drivers who hold the fastest time for every segment of the track are given extra points.
SPEED CHALLENGE – The winner in this race is the one who crosses the finish line first besides being cautious that their speed does not exceed 180mph.The course is divided into 3 to 9 sections in Top speed run races where points are given for your speed, angle and duration of the drift instantly. The player with the highest speed wins the race.
DRIFT – To score more points, the player has to drift and points are given on the basis of speed, angle and the duration of the drift
GRAPHICS AND DAMAGE
In the Prostreet, a lot of damage is possible eg. breaking peices of the car such as the hood, bumpers, rear view mirrors, light damage or even heavy damage which reduces the car performance and has the potential to total a car after the impact. Therefore, you can say that it has deatiled damage modelling with more depth as any object has the potential to inflict cosmetic damage.
CARS OF PROSTREET
Pristreet features a variety of cars and the changes largely affect the aerodynamics of the car. The players have the capability to check them in an enclosed chamber called wind tunnel. The game lacks a police presence and the speed breakers. You have a total of 55 payable cars as 76 with the add ons. The add ons are: 5 new cars can be added by downloading as the collector’s edition and 16 more cars as a booster pack for PC, xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Players can customize their cars by decals, vinvyls, paint colours, body modifications such as rims, hoods, body kits, mufflers, spoilers and roof scoops, auto sculpting where all the roof, hood, front bumper and the spoiler can change the performance of the car.
INTERNET VERSIONS
The online version is present for all except the PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Wii.Your game on the internet is recorded for the online leaderboard while online. Also the player’s customised car can be shared through the internet via the blueprints with the creator given a credit whenever their car is used for a leaderboard.
CAST
Pristreet features Ryan Cooper, a newcomer to the legal racing side as he was a former illegal street racer. His face is never seen as he wears a helmet like the STIG and even he is seen only at the beginning at the time of showdowns and defeat of the four kings. He also doesn’t speak inspired by the main character in the need for speed underground and carbon. It has a girls cast in the game too :
Krystal Forscutt who is a former Big Brother Australian contestant with Sayoko Ohassi as the starting girls. The commentators in the Prostreet racing are the real life commentators namely Jarod DeAnda as Big-Jay Battle machine and noise bomb announcing live at the formula D; John Hindhaugh as Roger Evans from R3act Team Sessions and G Effect is actually the long term host of Radio Le Mans and J bird as J Mack from Super Promotion, Noise bomb and Rogue Speed.
SITES OF RACING
Mot if the races in the Prostreet take place on the well known roads of Chicago, Nevada, Europe, Tokyo Docklands and the Autobahn. The game includes many real world tracks including the one in Texas, Portland International Raceway, Willow Springs International Motorsports Park in the USA, Autopolis and Ebisu Circuit in Japan, and Mondello Park in Ireland , etc
REVIEWS OF PROSTREET
Prostreet has been rated well with 7.0 (good) by Gamespot for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and Xbox 360, 6.5 (fair) for Windows PC and Wii and a 4.0 (bad) for PlayStation. It is stated that the cars have a shoody performance and are unrealistic in handling and even lacked the high production values of the titles. The PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Wii versions missed the content. had downgraded graphics and frnme rate issues.
SOUNDTRACK
The soundtrack of this game is produced by Junkie XL with 34 songs as a part of its soundtrack namely:
Decalomania, Damepener Rod, Choke, Idle Lever, Halogen Blindness, In the Trunk, Clevis, Bezel, 327- v8, Castellated Nut and further more.
LIMITATIONS
The advertisement features topless models and is hence under controversy along with the pape three girls with Becky Rule and Amii Grove as topless being advertised in the US where the EA arts says that these advertisemants slipped through the EA approval.
