STORYLINE OF THE VICE CITY
It sets in the 1980s American culture, the story revolving around a mafia named Tommy Vercetti recently released form the prison. Tommy involves himself in a drug deal gone wrong and then, plans to seek out the responsibility while building a criminal empire seizing the power from other criminal organizations in the Vice city, a fictional city. The game presents a huge city scope populated with many buildings, vehicles and people. It features open world game play to offer the players with more control. The player takes the role of Tommy whom the mafia’s family for whom he used to work, fears his heightening the tensions and bringing unwanted attention upon their criminal activities.

For this, Tommy is seen to Vice City to pretend as their buyer for the cocaine deals. The first meeting results in the death of the bodyguard of Tommy due to an ambush whereas Tommy escapes without the money and the cocaine. The next task he is given is of getting the money and the cocaine and killing whoever possible for the ambush. For this task, he follows the kneaders of Forelli lawyer Ken Rosenberg and contacts ex-military Colonel Juan Garcia Cortez, British record producer Kent Paul, real estate mogul Avery Carrington and an unknown man named Lance Vance who finally, helps Tommy to take the revenge. Tommy then begins to do tasks for Cortez before he is hires by the drug trafficker Ricardo Diaz.

The suspicion for the ambush falls upon Diaz when Tommy plans to prepare for his own attack but he fails when Lance Vance attempts to take revenge. Thus, both of them proceed to raid Diaz’s office and kill him so that his empire crumbles. The two now take over Diaz’s business and become the kings of Vice City Cocaine dealers.

Tommy makes his own organization “The Veracity Gang” and is its head. Lance, seeing the amount of money and power gained by Tommy starts to exhibit a paranoid and sociopath behavior so much so that he physically abuses the bodyguards and calls Tommy in states of hysteria. Forellis come to know about Tommy’s position in Vice City without sending a cut to the don as required. The Forellis send collectors to get money from Tommy although Tommy disposes them. An angered Sonny Forelli reaches Vice City with an army to kill Tommy and when they arrive at his empire, Tommy attempts to bribe them. However Lance ditches Tommy and joins Sonny who later invade Tommy’s mansion where Tommy kills both of them and becomes the kingpin of Vice City with Ken Rosenberg.

SETTINGS OF THE GAME
The game is set in a clearer and sunnier resort city called vice city based on Miami, Florida with golden beaches, waving palm trees and vivid sunsets. Grand theft auto 4 popularly known by the name of GTA4 is a sandbox third person shooter, action adventure game, a series to the GTA developed and published by Rock star North and Rock star Games respectively with Take-Two Interactive as the distributors. STORYLINE OF THE GAME

GTA 4 is set on the tracks of the city of Liberty City that is a fictional city based on New York City. It leads Niko Bellic who coming from Eastern Europe to the US as a war veteran for the American Dream but engages himself in the world of gangs, crime, corruption etc. However, later it is revealed that Niko had come to search for the one responsible for the betrayal of his army unit :Florian Carvic. Niko ties with the Liberty City Bratva through Roman’s loan shark Vladimir Glebov making friends with major figure of the Bratva, Mikhail Faustin and his associate, Dimitri Rascalov. Niko completes the tasks for Faustin before joining Dimitri’s plot to betray Faustin taking over the organization.

 Niko assassinates Faustin on Dimitri’s orders meeting him later to collect the reward for the killing. Dimitri, however, betrays Niko revealing his collusion with Rodislav Bulgarin, a former employer of Niko who orders his men to kill him. Jacob, a Jamaican arms dealer whom Niko befriended, arrives and rescues Niko. Dimitri and Bulgarin escape, however, and Jacob goes away telling to deal with them later.. Then Niko gets a call from Roman hiding somewhere after which they meet and drive to find. They escape to Bohan when they recieve death threats from Dimitri, and when Roman reveals his plans to propose to his girlfriend Mallorie. 

Niko then obtains new enemies in the city gaining money to provide his and Roman’s life forwarding his connections towards locating the person he is in search for. Niko later, locates Florian however, discovers that he has changed his name to Bernie Crane, and Niko understands that Bernie is not responsible for his unit’s betrayal leading him with the only suspect, Darko Brevic. At the end, a shadowy government agency (under the name of “U..L. Paper”) that forced Niko to help them in collusion with an aging mobster, Jon Gravelli, locates Darko in Bucharest and arrange to have him brought to Liberty City as a final reward. Niko goes to Darko, who is a drug-addicted, guilt-ridden wreck leaving him with either executing Darko or sparing his life. Then, Niko relaxes at a bar when mob boss Jimmy Pegorino asks him the favor to obtain a shipment of heroin for him that he can sell to a buyer: Dimitri Rascalov.

The story further has 2 endings which depends upon the player.

If the player chooses to take Revenge, Niko ambushes Dimitri on his tanker supervising a shipment. A gunfight takes place within the hull of the tanker and Niko kills Dimitri in cold blood. Then, Roman and Mallorie’s wedding takes place and Jimmy Pegorino, furious after the betrayal, commits a drive-by outside the church killing Niko’s love, Kate McReary. Niko, Roman and Little Jacob follow Pegorino’s men leading them to an abandoned casino in Alderney. Niko attempts to kill Pegorino whereas he escapes to Happiness Island via boat while Niko follows him with a helicopter and kills Pegorino, before lamenting on the supposed “American Dream” to Roman and Jacob.

If the player chooses to strike a Deal, Niko meets Phil Bell at the docks for the exchange. Dimitri sabotages his side of the deal but Niko and Phill retrieve the drug money. Kate, who was against making the deal, is angry at Niko refusing to attend Roman and Mallorie’s wedding. An enemy by Dimitri to kill Niko shoots and kills Roman during a struggle. Niko, then teams up with Little Jacob and go to an abandoned casino in Alderney to kill Dimitri, now in partnership with Pegorino. Jacob formulates an escape plan for Niko after he kills Dimitri. In the casino, Dimitri kills Pegorino and escapes. Niko and Little Jacob follow him to Happiness Island, where Niko kills Dimitri with the story ending as a parting shot of the Statue of Happiness, with Niko concerned for the well-being of his soul.

Xbox World 360 gave the game 98% rating mentioning the game was “everything we were entitled to expect, and yet somehow impossibly more. Game Spot submitted the review with a 9.5 score. It became the first game since 2001 that Game Spot had rated perfect.

CONTROVERSIES OF THE GAME

A review in Ares Technical states that the game “is not perfect. Also, there are fewer vehicles, weapons, and story missions, less character customization, and even the size of the city is smaller.

Game Spot said that there are problems with friendly AI and avoiding the police being “a little too easy.

There were complaints with the game’s cover system.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners complained of the game freezing during the initial cut-scene, making it unplayable.

The online multiplayer was down on release day for some PlayStation 3 users.

Rock star and Sony released a patch for the PlayStation 3 version of the game to improve the multiplayer experience.
