The New Facebook:
Facebook made a drastic design change and added two new features that’s gonna affect all their users.to change what founder and ceo calls facebooks “ encyclopedic interface” whre the pages just list info about the users , a mini feed and news feed had been thought of.

The two new products show the info of the users as and when they occur. News feed is available on the face page and basically shows the new updates made by other users such as relationship status changes, ppl joinin groups etc.

after this specific change thres no need for the user to visit evry frnds page everyday to see the changes . it resembles the news paper headlines which mention the news updates.

Mini feed another one of the new updates shows the information related to only one user appears directly on the users profile page and is a variation of the news feed. It’s a quick way to noe wats new in the users profile.

Both these products are based on the standard facebook privacy settings like everything else on facebook. The people who U allow to see this data will b the only ones who will b able to see it. Whatever appears is all based on who u r, who they are n the rules they set for their profiles.

These new designs may confuse you for a while but I fail to disagree with what Ruchi Sanghvi mentioned on the facebook blog which says “These features are not only different from anything we’ve had on Facebook before, but they’re quite unlike anything you can find on the web.”

Facebook gets a clear idea of attention metastream , where how efficiently the services allow users to communicate is much more imp than the page views. It has made it easier for the users to stay in touch with all the new updates.

It may cause less page views as the user need not go n view various pages for updates but it will be very fruitful for the long run n wud force users to fall in love with the new facebook .

Agreein with the fact that’s these new designs are interesting and certainly useful, its been noticed that thres no way that u can actually turn off the news feed.

The only possible way to do this is by manually deleting all the news feed after uve completed ur task if u don’t want others to noe bout it which is a bit tedious. Though its good to see the site still innovatin, the reviews bout the changes have been mixed.

The two new products have faced a lot of negative remarks made by users round the globe…

A huge number of people are not happy with the changes made by the authorities. Frank Gruber notes that a Facebook group has been formed called “Students against Facebook News Feed”.

The group is closing in on 1,00,000 members less than 24 hrs after the changes wre launched. If the rumours are to b believed, thre are 100s of oder facebook groups cliin for removal of these features.

To boycott facebook, a site ws put up on September 12 along with a petition to hve the featured removed. New sites are risin as well. On the contrary thres no group commin up in support of the new facebook.

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has responded personally , saying “Calm down. Breathe. We hear you.” and “We didn’t take away any privacy options.”
