THE MARUTI’S NEWCOMER – SWIFT SEDAN

Maruti Suzuki will no sooner hit the markets with its latest swift with a boot or as one would call it, the new esteem that is the swift sedan. The car is expected to be seen in the markets between January – February 2008.

THE BASIC FEATURES

The new Swift sedan is considered to have both the options for petrol as well as diesel engine. The diesel engine may have the 1.3L DDIS engine which is currently being used by the Swift hatch back. Swift sedan will be quite a family car and not much sporty having a wider rear section to let it function properly. The Swift Sedan is also called the Swift in its three box avatar taking on the next generation of Indigo that is also about to be released priced at around Rs5.5 lacs. Maruti, though earlier could not capture the diesel market with its Esteem as it flopped but, it is no doubt that the esteem’s petrol model has till now hold some grip as even after thirteen years of its debut, it has sold a good amount of 6,000 in the April-July period.
