THE NEED TO LAUNCH THE NEW HONDA CITY VTEC
The company HONDA had a challenge set for themselves to fulfill which was to exceed each ones expectation from this company and reach a level that was just mind blowing with the result of the launch of this new and beautiful car.
To reach this goal, they designed every specification with all their might to start with their “arrow short form” to the spacious and awes trucking interiors or the 5 speed AT paddle shift for exciting performance to the safety features. They made sure that each feature reflects the joy of their going ahead with the times. Though it is right that its price is a little higher due to the luxuries provided inside the car.
THE BASIC FEATURES OF THE NEW HONDA CITY
The Honda City Vtec comes with a spectacular 1500 cc i-vtec engine that produces a 118 PS close to a 115 Bhp with the automatic and manual transmissions for the price of rs 7.7 lakh and rs 8.9 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi).The new Honda City Vtec has 3 trim levels and comes in 6 bright shades and a 2 year warranty bill. The booking has been started, however the car will be delivered somewhere in the month of November 2008.It has a new alloy wheel design which ha she chances of differing from country to country.
HOW THE VTEC STANDS AHEAD OF ITS PREDECCESSORS?
The older models of the Honda City had a few limitations which have been overcomes in this VTEC model having the world class space age design evoking an image of the Honda FCX Clarity fuel cell car and the new Accord while it resembles the Civic from the side. It has sharp and angular headlight looking snazzy and sharp with a steel grill. Honda calls this new design an “Arrow short form” and the flanks are clean.
The VTEC is wider and longer than other models being 440 mm long by 5 mm longer than the old Honda City, wider by 5 mm as is 1695 mm wide at the same time being 15 mm shorter though still gives the same ground clearance and head and leg space. Also its wheelbase is longer by 100 mm. It has the 4 cylinder SOHC I-VTEC engine expected to be the 120 PS 1.5 liter units from the newly launched Jazz and headlamps. At the end, one can say that it is a “POOR MAN’S LUXURY”.
INTERIORS OF THE NEW HONDA
The new VTEC shares better, improved and smarter interiors with a broader steering wheel compared to Civic with added controls that will surely amaze you, 5 speed automatic transmission accompanied by a paddle shift option as in the Civic, double shaded interiors, integrated audio bass, beautiful meters and dials as a result the interior designs beating the Civic. The interiors of the car are cheaper to cats and manufacture but decent enough at the same time. This car has a light interior whereas some markets may have a dark interior. In a nutshell, it has a clean and simple interior featuring integrated audio and new designed steering wheel.
SAFETY FEATURES
The new Honda has all the safety features to look into like the Anti Click Barring System, the Dual SRS airbags, pretension seatbelts, the GCON body with the G force Control Technology and the crush proof survival zone.

COMPETITIONS TO THE VTEC
The MARUTI SX4 could offer a great competition to the new Honda City VTEC if it can put the features on the road that it has put on paper. The upcoming Feat Lineal can also be its tough competitor.
